Chain Operating Report

CBRL, Ruby Tuesday and other chains report operating results.
- Burger King Corp. acquired 72 restaurants in Iowa and Nebraska from franchisee Simmonds Restaurant Management.
- California Pizza Kitchen reported comparable restaurant sales increased 1.4 percent for the second quarter ending June 29.
- CBRL Group Inc. reported comparable store sales for its Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurants decreased 1.2 percent for the four-week period ending June 29.
- CKE Restaurants Inc. reported same-store sales increased 5.2 percent for the four weeks ending July 14. Broken down, sales increased 4.9 percent for Carl’s Jr., and 1.1 percent for Hardee’s.
- Così reported total revenues for the 2008 second quarter grew 3.6 percent to $36,722,800 from $35,448,100 in the 2007 second quarter. The chain also reported that systemwide same-store sales for the second quarter recorded an aggregate 2.2-percent increase compared to the second quarter of 2007.
- Domino’s Pizza reported same-store sales decreased 1.1 percent for company-owned stores and 5.9 percent for franchised units, amounting to a 5.4-percent average decrease at the close of the second quarter on June 15.
- Ruby Tuesday reported same-store sales decreased 10.3 percent and 7.2 percent, respectively, at company-owned units and franchised units for the fourth quarter ending June 3. Sales decreased 9.8 percent and 7.6 percent for the year.
- Wendy’s International reported same-store sales increased 0.1 percent for the second quarter ending June 29.
